Summary

This update introduces significant behind-the-scenes technical improvements to accelerate future content development, adds Tormented Demons as a new tier 100 boss with unique Demonbane weapons, and outlines upcoming content including Yama boss, achievements system upgrades, and a revamped Halloween event with improved Breaches.

Tech upgrades

Behind the scenes, while the League has been going on, significant technical reworking to the codebase has been undertaken (long time overdue) which should make developing custom content much faster and less difficult.

This is an investment into the future of August, and there's excitement to get cracking on some new content to take advantage of all of this, especially with all that's been learned from the league and the things that it highlighted about the game.

NOTE: This does mean that there's a pretty high chance that there will be a wide range of strange issues popping up around the game where you might not expect them. Please report these bugs so they can be fixed ASAP.

Tormented Demons

  • Tier 100 with T100 boss level HP
  • Drop new Demonbane (+40% accuracy, +30% damage) weaponry and the demonite defender
    • [T98] Scorching Bow - 1 tick faster attacks vs demons, spec attack freezes demons for 20 ticks
    • [T98] Emberlight - spec attack has increased damage and drains target attack/strength/defence stats
    • [T98] Purging Staff - 10% (additive) increased chance to proc Elementalist (PvM talent)
    • [T98] Burning Claws - chance to burn on spec, 2x "Burning claw" combined (use on each other)

All of the above new weapons do not use any charges.

What's coming next

  • Yama boss coming to the game which will bring a whole new challenge
  • Upgrade to the achievements system to make it much easier to use
  • Proper boss HP bar implementation
  • Picking out important bits of feedback from the community (almost-end-of-year-sweep-up)
  • Preparation for another Halloween event with improved Breaches system

League points transfer

The system for sending over league points from the league worlds to the main worlds is ready to go! Lock in as many points as you want before the event is over.
