Update from Oct 11 2024

This update focuses on improving the Halloween event experience with numerous quality-of-life features for Trick tasks and Breach gameplay. Key changes include group participation in Trick tasks, improved item tradability, more ways to earn spooky sweets, and enhanced Breach mechanics with better NPC spawning and reduced damage contribution requirements.

Halloween event changes

Trick tasks

  • Trick tasks which require killing NPCs can now be done in groups, with the only requirement being that you need to have done at least 20% of the damage to the NPC
  • The Halloween Mystery Box is now tradeable
  • The Trinket of Vengeance now has a description of how it works in its examine text
  • Vorkath kills now count towards Trick tasks
  • Tasks which cannot be completed, like the olympian logs one, can now be disabled live, and they will be able to be reset for free if you have a disabled task
  • The daily treat cooldown will only be set when you get the buff if you somehow cancel the dialog
  • You can now progress Halloween Trick tasks when you gain items via Infernal Gatherer and Grace of the Elves
  • The Phantasm and Necrotic cape, boots, macuahuitls, cane and wand - and pumpkin/inverted-pumpkin santa hats have been added into the Vote shop and Donator Cosmetic shop
  • Jhallan's start to the boss fight should perform a lot better now, particularly in Breaches, where he'd lag the world with the explosion he does
  • Bob the cat slippers have been added to the Halloween shop, and spiked manacles can now be equipped
  • A "Death Note" has been added to the Halloween shop for 1 spooky sweet, which allows you to check your current task progress wherever you are
  • Trick tasks can now be cancelled with coins instead of sweets. Hard tasks are intentionally much more expensive to cancel
  • Slayer tasks will now give you a small amount of spooky sweets upon completion
  • A bunch of cosmetic items for the Halloween event have been made tradeable

Breaches

  • Breaches should spawn even more NPCs, and no longer spawn them off in the water
  • You only require 1% damage contribution against breach NPCs now, instead of 10%. So it should be more than possible to get breach loot, but you'll still want to be spreading out and finding your own NPCs to kill with your group

Other changes

  • Admins can help with more GIM problems again - some of our internal tooling got fixed
  • The built-in boss HP interface has been removed. The Runelite one is better
  • Gathering animations will no longer be cancelled every time you don't successfully gather an item, while you're repeatedly gathering
