Update from Aug 29 2024

This major update introduces Mage Arena 2 with three new boss fights and tier 90 imbued god capes, adds powerful special effects to all spirit shields, and implements new melee talents that scale with prestige rank. The update also includes various weapon improvements and bug fixes for combat mechanics, damage reduction, and slayer tasks.

Mage Arena 2

Take on 3 new boss fights:

  • Derwen (Guthix)
  • Justiciar Zachariah (Saradomin)
  • Porazdir (Zamorak)

Defeat them to unlock the new Tier 90 mage Imbued God Capes, charged God Staves, and materials to upgrade Staff of the Dead into the Staff of Light or Staff of Balance (tier 95 staves).

Each fight has their own unique mechanics which are not like OSRS. You will need to figure out how to defeat them on your own! Good luck with getting your hands on one or many of the pets!

To the Hardcores out there, I recommend you watch somebody else first or try it out on an alt... They can pack a punch if you don't know what you're doing.

The Zamorak staff is the first mage weapon to have a special attack, which will deal 65% increased damage to targets who have an active overhead prayer.

Spirit Shields

Each spirit shield has been given a new special effect, on top of their existing stats!

Arcane Spirit Shield

  • Increases damage of all magic attacks by 10%

Spectral Spirit Shield

  • Increases damage done by ranged attacks by 0.1% per prayer point you have left

Elysian Spirit Shield

  • 70% chance to take 15% less damage from all NPC or Player attacks

Blood Spirit Shield

  • Soaks 25% of damage taken, applying 15% more damage back to you as rapid damage over time each tick

Collection Logs

Along with the Mage Arena update, Corporeal Beast and Thermonuclear Smoke Devil have all had collection log entries added!

Other Changes

  • Temple spiders and Dagannoth Rex have had their attack range reduced to 1
  • Permadeaths should no longer lose the pet that is following you
  • The Holy Lance has been added back into the game with a new model which is a craftable tier 95 melee stab weapon
  • The check that disallows you to use ammo with certain weapons, will no longer apply to blessings
  • Heavenly ballista is now a "charged ballista", meaning it no longer uses ammo, needs to be charged with Hecate's mana, and has a much higher base strength bonus
  • Charged ballistas, longbows, and shortbows, all now unequip shields, as they always should have
  • Tomes of death/blood/wrath weren't meant to provide damage boost to non-spellbook spells, so that has been fixed
  • Vorkath will now work properly as a Slayer task, awarding you Slayer XP on death, and reducing the Slayer Task remaining amount
  • The Titanforged Maul special attack no longer always hits zeroes
  • Olympian Donator Rank players ::yelling will now have their text background be darker, so you can read what they say
  • A bunch of cases which did not apply damage reduction, now apply damage reduction. This includes, but is not limited to: Jad's attacks, Vorkath's spitting fire and fire bomb, Zulrah's poison clouds, and Cerberus' lava pools
  • Dragonstone Drakes now have an extra tick in between the doof doof attacks, to give you a chance to move away
  • You can no longer emote while you're meant to be locked, like in Apollo's stun phase
