Patch notes/Apr 13 2025
Summary
This significant update introduces 13 major buffs to equipment and talents, implements a simple but rewarding Easter event featuring Stompy the world boss, and includes major backend rewrites for the Grand Exchange and grouping systems for multi-world support. - The old talent 'Aggression' has been added back in, but only procs when exploiting NPC weaknesses
Grand Exchange rewrite
As part of the multi-world efforts, the Grand Exchange needed to be rewritten.
There is one very important detail you need to understand:
- All of your existing orders in the GE will be automatically cancelled, and can be collected by using the command
::oldge
- You can use the
::oldge
command as many times as you need to collect, if you have a full inventory or whatever - You will be told what the orders are that are being cancelled when you log in
Other than that, everything else should work exactly the same. When there are multiple worlds, the EU and Aus worlds may experience slightly higher latency with GE requests. NA should be smooth as butter.
Grouping rewrite
To have multi-world work properly, grouping also needed an entire backend rewrite. You will be able to group up with other players across worlds when more worlds are opened up.
- The main difference here is that the GIM bank needed a bit of a more complex rewrite in order to limit access to it across worlds
- As a result, you may get locked out of the bank for up to 5 minutes if you're using it in a weird way. For most cases, everything should act exactly the same
Multi-World
With the announcement made for multi-world previously, this update technically is capable of supporting that, but multiple worlds won't be released YET. With so many significant changes, the team wants to hold off from adding to the range of things that can break that require fixing all at once.
The plan is to release 2 new worlds:
- One in Paris
- One in Sydney
The idea is that everyone should be able to have an amazing + responsive experience wherever they are in the world. Work has been done to ensure that the worlds remain highly connected, and you will be able to freely hop across worlds using the world switcher tool.
Transmog changes
You can now transmog 2-handed weapons even if your actual main-hand weapon isn't 2-handed.
Additionally, it should feel like you're using the transmog weapon now.
- Projectiles and graphics that you'd expect to see when you're using the weapon normally will now show up if you have it transmogged on
- This includes things like:
- Tumekens cast/impact graphics + projectile
- Scythe swipe graphic
- Arrow/bolt projectiles
Easter Event
We're keeping it nice and simple for this event!
EVERYBODY gets free access to the talents: Treasure Goblins, Grace of the Elves.
- You get the effect of rank 5 without needing to assign talent points
- Assigning talent points into these talents during the event will have no added effect
New currency
- Choc-ice!
Gain currency from
- Seren spirits (now a chocolatey Seren)
- Treasure goblins (now chocolate rabbits)
Spend currency at
- The new event store right by
::home
, outside of the building. Big rabbit - hard to miss! - The store has a bunch of limited availability general items alongside the easter ones. Snatch them up before the event is over and the shop disappears!
New web store items
- Easter Trinket (tradeable)
- Bunny Jar (tradeable)
- Both of the above available in bundle deals
- The Bunny Jar is also accessible in the in-game donator store
New easter pet
- Chocolate rabbit, upgradeable to a mega-rare trinket themed rabbit by feeding dupe rabbits to the rabbit
- Can be obtained from the event store
- Drops from the new world boss (Stompy)
- Can be obtained via the Easter Trinket
New world boss Stompy
- Hops around and deals damage to those who stand in the stomping range
- Causes giant easter eggs to fall from the sky, damaging players who don't move out from under them
- Drops some easter loot, and the easter pet!
- Can be spawned with Bunny Jars
Also, the map has been updated to be a bit more festive, as always. Also also, unwanted trinket items may be sacrificed at Pandora's bench.
Other changes
- The Dark Bow now shoots two arrows instead of one!
- The Dark Bow spec attack also now visually shows two dragons flying at the target, even though it did shoot twice already
- The description for the talent 'Energy Efficiency' has been updated to be more clear how it works
- The vote streak store will now tell you in the title of the interface what your vote streak is
- Offline players in your GIM/party should now have their usernames show in the interface while they're offline
- The April-fools ZCB and Tumekens Shadow models have been reverted back
