Frequently Asked Questions
The August RSPS FAQ is a collection of frequently asked questions to help new and experienced players navigate the game. Whether you're just starting out or looking for specific answers, this page is designed to provide clear and helpful information.
What do pets do?
August has two types of pets, Combat Pets and Non-combat Pets. Skilling pets all provide a 20% XP bonus to their respective skill when following you.
What is stardust for?
Stardust is used to purchase items from the Stardust Store. The store is located west of Home by the makeover mage.
How do I get coal dust/granite dust/luminite flux?
You can use either a hammer, chisel, or mortar and pestle on coal, granite, and luminite ore to get their respective dust forms.
Nurmof at Home can also crush ores for you, at the cost of 50 skilling tokens per item crushed. The return is the same as if you crushed them yourself, __you will not receive the experience you would normally gain for crushing them__, however.
What are sunfire splinters for?
Sunfire Splinters are used to charge the Tonalztics of ralos.
What is tempering?
Tempering allows you to sacrifice duplicate items to increase the stats of those items. The Tempering page has more info about this process.
How many talent points do I need to unlock a specific tier?
This is different for each set of talents: PvM Talents, Skilling Talents, Utility Talents.
How do I repair barrows?
Barrows items can be repaired at any anvil, under the "Oxi" category.
How do I get barrows gloves?
Barrows gloves can be crafted under the "Oxi" category at any anvil.
What are tiers?
Items and enemies have tiers which determine their strength. Most enemies and items can be examined to show their tiers, and will be displayed before the examine text. e.g: "[T90] A pair of upgraded dragon boots." when examining Primordial boots.
What is prestiging? Should I prestige?
Prestiging resets your skill level to 1, and provides a number of talent points. You should generally always prestige when possible. Depending on your game mode, you can prestige a skill up to 7 times, or up to 10 if you are playing a masochist.
How do I train agility/construction/hunter?
These skills are not currently in game.
How can I increase my drop rate/drop luck?
There are 3 primary ways of increasing drop rate: Voting, Divine luck flasks, and setting up your bank pin and 2fa.
How do I get food or potions?
August does not have a food potion store. Food and potions can be purchased on the Grand Exchange at Home if you are not an Ironman, otherwise, it is generally best to get food from Fishing, or potions from Farming and Herblore.
How do I get to world bosses/events?
You can teleport to world bosses by using the ::wb command. Other events will have a Click here to teleport button available in the August Events Runelite plugin in your plugins list:
Where can I see donation ranks?
Donation ranks and info about donating can be found here.
Where can I see my current donation rank/info?
You can view information about your current donation rank or total by clicking on the bond icon in your Runelite plugins list:
What is the difference between a bond and a rank book?
Rank books are untradeable, and increase your "donation total", which determines your donation rank.
Bonds are tradeable and giftable to ironman accounts. Bonds also increase your "donation total" as rank books do, however, they also provide "donation points", a currency for purchasing items at the Donator store.
How do I claim donations or votes?
Donations can be claimed by typing ::claimdonations in game, and votes can be claimed by typing ::claimvotes in game.
What is the drop rate for an item? What does mega rare etc. mean?
A number of drop rates in the game are not made public, if you cannot see the drop rate of an item when examining an enemy that drops it, the rate for that item has not been made public. More information on drop rates can be found here.
Where can I find herblore secondaries?
You can view drop details for all herblore secondaries in the Herblore Secondaries guide.
How do I enter the wilderness?
The wilderness is not currently enabled on August.
