Patch notes/Sept 05 2024
Update from Sept 05 2024
This update revises the previous pet balance changes, with more consistent pet damage scaling based on attack speed. It also introduces several quality-of-life improvements including changes to overhealing mechanics, Elementalist interactions with ice spells, server performance optimizations, and website account management features.
Pet update update
Okay so I missed the mark with the last update.
Between the new pet max hits, and also the balancing within the same tiers, the numbers were a bit wonky. We've worked hard to ensure that these are all much more reasonable in both regards.
- All pets and other NPCs will hit a bit harder (for reals this time, the above was a false alarm)
- Don't worry about thermy being almost BIS for such an easy pet to get. The DPS across all the tier 90 boss pets have been balanced properly and should perform similarly, regardless of the attack speed. The slower the attack speed of the pet, the higher the max hit. The faster, the lower
WATCH OUT FOR BOSSES that might clap your ass. One in particular that has been brought up to where it was meant to be is Corporeal beast.
Also watch out for the Dagannoth Kings.
Sufficient armour bonuses and damage reduction are very important if you're playing a dangerous game mode.
QOL and other goodies
- When you heal from anything while your HP is above your max HP level, e.g. from a brew or olympian feast, your HP will no longer be reset back down to pre-boosted levels
- This means you can safely overheal before a dangerous encounter, while you have perks such as draining strikes, and maintain a buffer for safety
- Elementalist will no longer trigger freezes when you're using ice spells, so you will no longer be screwed out of a full ice barrage freeze time if you happen to proc elementalist
- The server should run a bit better than before. Hopefully less lag under big load, like when everyone's smashing the world boss
- Bottomless overloads and prayer renewals will no longer be valued at like 2gp. They're set to 500k, so you shouldn't be able to high alch them without intentionally changing your alch warnings
- Registering on the website will now require you to confirm your email address, to prevent typos and the need for manual resets
- You now have a password reset link on the website while you're logged in. Just click on your username in the top right, and click "Reset Password" to get there
