Gem beasts are popular for mid-level players due to their armour and weapon sets. Nearly all gem beasts can be easily dispatched by using Protect from Melee to negate all incoming damage, with the exception being Dragonstone Drakes.
Sapphire Beast
Starting at level 80 Slayer, players can receive Sapphire Beast tasks from Nixite.
Armour
Comprised of the Sapphire helm, Sapphire body, and Sapphire legs, the Sapphire armour set requires level 80 Defence to wear. Sapphire armour, although weaker in individual stats to other Tier 80 armours, provides a tribrid attack benefit to all combat styles, giving it the tradeoff of being useful when multiple combat styles are utilized.
- Gem armours do not require charges.
Weapons
Comprised of the Sapphire halberd, Sapphire longbow, Sapphire shortbow, Sapphire staff, and Sapphire warhammer, the Sapphire weapons require level 80 in their respective styles.
Emerald Beast
Starting at level 85 Slayer, players can receive Emerald Beast tasks from Nixite.
Armour
Comprised of the Emerald helm, Emerald body, and Emerald legs, the Emerald armour set requires level 85 Defence to wear. Emerald armour, although weaker in individual stats to other Tier 85 armours, provides a tribrid attack benefit to all combat styles, giving it the tradeoff of being useful when multiple combat styles are utilized.
- Gem armours do not require charges.
Weapons
Comprised of the Emerald halberd, Emerald longbow, Emerald shortbow, Emerald staff, and Emerald warhammer, the Emerald weapons require level 85 in their respective styles.
- Emerald weapons must be charged with Emerald shards to be used, at a rate of 24 charges per 1 shard.
- Tip: Utilizing the Charged Preservation Talent will reduce your chance of consuming a charge.
- Sapphire weapons must be charged with Sapphire shards to be used, at a rate of 25 charges per 1 shard.
- Tip: Utilizing the Charged Preservation Talent will reduce your chance of consuming a charge.

Gem Weaponry

Requiring 80/85/90/95/100 in their respective combat style, Gem weapons must be charged with 'Gem Shards' in order to be used. By default, weapons gain 25/24/23/22/21/20 charges per shard, respectively.
