This is a guide for training the Runecrafting skill. This guide has a basic outline of methods to train the skill, and which Talents will impact the skill to aide in your training.

This guide does not promise to be the most efficient, best xp/hour, or best money-making guide. Rather, it is a good option for those looking for help deciding how to train their skills.

Setup

In order to start Runecrafting, players will need essence. In August, Dense essence blocks are used as the primary essence instead of rune or pure essence. Essence can be mined by teleporting via Aubury at Home, or obtained by killing various bosses.

Dense essence blocks are the primary essence you will use in August, and are used directly on the Runecrafting altar. Players may also receive Essence shards.

Essence shards can be exchanged at Aubury for Dense essence blocks at a 1:1 ratio. (100 shards turned in gives 100 essence blocks).

Training

Level 1+

Once you have collected your Dense essence blocks, players can teleport to the Runecrafting altar by selecting the runecrafting teleport on the Portal Nexus at home. The default option, bind random is recommended when Runecrafting. This method should be used for the entirety of your training.

Important note: The Banker's Note Talent does not work on essence blocks!

Bonuses and Talents

Bonuses

Bonus Description
Vote Buff 20% XP bonus if the player is near other group members.
Skilling xp token 20% XP bonus if a skilling xp token is used.
Skilling outfit 8% XP bonus if the Rainments of the Eye outfit is worn.
Ring of 3rd age 12% XP bonus if worn. Replaces the skilling outfit bonus.
Skilling pets 20% XP bonus if Rift guardian is following the player, or in bank with Remote Recipient Talent.

Talent Synergies

Talents marked with a * will only affect essence collection!

Resource Gatherer* Tier 1 Skilling Increases the chance to receive 2x the resources by up to 60% at max rank.
Resource Banker* Tier 1 Skilling Increases the chance to automatically bank resources by up to 60% at max rank.
Speedy Gatherer* Tier 1 Skilling Increases the chance to speed up your action when gathering by up to 60% at max rank.
Skilling XP Tier 2 Skilling Gain up to 25% more XP in non-combat skills at max rank.
Persistent Gatherer* Tier 2 Skilling Increases the number of repetitions while gathering, up to 75, before needing to interact again.
Runic Empowerment Tier 3 Skilling Provides up to 3 extra runes per essence used.
Last Recall Tier 4 Utility Receive an item that will remember the last location you teleported from, and can teleport you back.
Essence Enrichment Tier 5 Skilling Chance to create runes when mining dense essence blocks, but no experience is gained. This is a 100% chance at max rank.
